Solar Products & Equipment The Solar water pumping system uses power generated by solar cells to operate submersible and surface centrifugal pump set to lift water from bore/open well or water reservoir. It is mostly needed in fuel scarce but sun rich countries like India for minor irrigation and drinking water purpose. These countries use Solar PV power either because they are not with in the range of electrical grid, or cannot afford engine-driven pumping. Even farmers who are covered by the state grid are benefitted as they get relief from frequent power cuts and are able to run their farm more viably. The pumps are easier to operate and require less maintenance. Though pumps can be of any size, most small farms and villages use less than a kilowatt for their pumping needs. Developing countries need less costly and more reliable methods of pumping water and solar pumping is one of the more reliable ways to meet their water needs.
